The mayor says the "25% affordable housing number is ridiculous" which is interesting since this number was vetted and recommended by the Santa Cruz City Planning Commission to respond to the Density Bonus problem.
Other intelligent cities are provided MORE affordable housing, San Francisco requires 30% so it is completely feasible-but the City Council would have to want to build more affordable housing.
